3D Printed Parts for Real Railroads

Photo for Lyforms Small-Scale blog post about 3D printed parts for real railroadsOver a year ago, I posted about how a British company had turned to 3D printing to create replacement parts for their rolling stock that were no longer being mass produced.

I came across this article where Siemens signed a deal to produce NEW trains for a Russian train company and use 3D printers based in Russia to produce spare parts for the trains over the next 30 years.

Check it out here: https://3dprintingindustry.com/news/siemens-mobility-further-invests-in-stratasys-3d-printers-for-30-year-rail-maintenance-project-168837/

This is yet another example of how 3D printing is practically applied towards maintaining railroad fleets.
